TAN Company extends its range of tools for leather goods, footwear and saddlery with the Rechargeable Thread Burner, item 132.2118. The tool melts and seals synthetic and waxed threads flush with the seam, removing protruding ends and preventing the stitch from coming undone.
It is an everyday workshop item for leather goods makers, shoe repairers, saddlers and upholsterers – customers our dealers already serve, who today rely on lighters, gas burners or corded devices.
Product features
- Battery-powered, USB-C charging: no cable during use, no gas refills.
- Heated stainless steel tip: no open flame near leather, adhesives and solvents.
- Three heat levels (2.7 · 3.4 · 4.2 V), for fine threads and tapes, general leather goods work, and thick or waxed threads and saddlery.
- Heats only while the button is pressed, with automatic stop after 10 seconds.
- Replaceable tip with threaded fitting.
Applications
Suitable for polyester, nylon, waxed threads and synthetic tapes, including preventing webbing and tapes from fraying. Not suitable for natural fibres (linen, cotton, silk). It complements the Real Marina waxed polyester threads, also in the TAN catalogue.
